IBM Research Labs

Remember when I mentioned earlier that I had no idea what IBM really did when walking into the internship? My work with the team and visiting the Research Lab really changed that quickly. It starts out by walking into a building that looks like a hotel but then finding out it is full of laboratories. There were doors that would become see through with the flip of a switch and screens that with a simple hand motion would move across the room. There were scientists making digital storage units the size of a nanometer that run twice as fast as my laptop. Don't forget all of this has to work with the cloud. They  do awesome things like making museum floors you can color, starring on reality TV shows, and the general blowing up of stuff for fun. I also got to meet the famous WATSON aka the computer that destroyed everyone on Jeopardy and in the kitchen at SXSW. It's crazy how a computer can learn at such an advanced rate.
